Most of us see the world in color, but not all colors affect us the same. Some of us, unfortunately, can't see colors at all, while others are severely impaired in some way. But any color, even white, has hundreds of varying shades, and we each see color with our own biases and interpretations. For the longest time, as an artist without any real formal art training, I always drew and colored shadows as black.

Until someone told me they were blue, and soon after I saw a photograph, and clearly I had been wrong. Shadows were blue, I'd been interpreting them as black. And then one day I picked up a book on color theory.
